Stop and smell the roses—

and appreciate them, too.

From wherever you’re comfortable.

‘Scraped Tablet’

an absence of preconceived ideas or predetermined goals; a clean slate

Tabula Rasa began in December of 2021, when my shovel first hit the ground starting construction on the greenhouse. From the ground up, I have independently cultivated what I hope is the start of a vessel to share my vision with the world. If I could have one wish, it would be for everyone to see nature through my eyes and experience my admiration of nature, plants, and living things. There is a deep rooted, guttural passion and sense of awestruck wonder in my soul when I’m in or around nature. Success for me and this business would be capturing and sharing this feeling with every piece of living art I make and sell. When you buy something from me, you’re not just buying a product- you’re buying my vision.

So what is this vision of mine?

I grew up watching David Attenborough, Steve Irwin, and the like. I watched them experience the beautiful diversity of Earth’s greatest treasure- plants, animals, life itself. As good as it was watching these shows, it wasn’t enough for me to see this on a screen- I wanted more, something tangible. I wanted to immerse myself in what was on the TV, being however hindered by the inability to travel and see this diversity in situ. I further understood that while what was shown on screen was stunning, the intricacies of the environment left off film were most appealing. I desired to feel the mosses underfoot, smell the fresh earth, listen to the water dripping down the stones. If you just take a closer look, there is this sense of intense beauty and serenity in the small, immobile fragments of nature- and the general lack of attention makes it all the more awe inspiring to me.

My vision is to capture these fragments of nature- be it trees in tiny pots, terraria, or simple potted plants- and highlight them in an artistic frame. Put these quiet little moments on a pedestal, so to speak. Live plants are in and of themselves a work of art in my eyes, and my goal is to use them as an element of art- be it just the plants themselves, or complimenting them with other natural materials in a more grand composition. A great deal of time, passion, and thought goes into designing them to be as low maintenance as possible, making it so you can experience the wonder of nature with ease- all without you having to even leave your house.

Here at Tabula Rasa, we invite you to stop and smell the roses. Delve into the infinite beauty that life has to offer, and let the serenity of living art fill your space and mind.
